Daudi Bangirana, who was the District Health Inspector and Councillor of Bitereko Subcounty in Mitooma District when the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project began, was introduced to the idea of a carbon project. He learned that the project encouraged group participation, especially with women. Working with Beatrice Ahimbisibwe, the Chairperson of the Bitereko Subcounty women’s group, they wrote a proposal for the group’s involvement in the project.
