Nazarius, a 70-year-old farmer from Bunyaruguru Subcounty in Rubirizi District, proudly shares his journey as one of the first farmers to join the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project. When he started, he was already growing pine trees on part of his land. One day, a team from ECOTRUST came looking for people who were interested in planting indigenous trees through a carbon offset program. The idea caught his attention, and together with a few friends, he decided to give it a try.

Tereza, a resident of Bitereko Subcounty in Mitooma District, began her journey with the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project in 2006. Before joining the program, life was difficult, and money was tight. She remembers a time when she had never even held UGX 100,000 in her hands. That all changed when she joined the TGB project and started receiving carbon payments.

Bonny Mukiga, from Bitereko Subcounty in Mitooma District, began her journey as a Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) farmer back in 2003. She was encouraged to join the project by ECOTRUST coordinators and inspired by others who had already experienced its benefits. The idea of planting trees and earning from carbon credits seemed promising, and she was eager to be part of it.

Bushoborozi Benon, from Kirama Village in Kiyanga Subcounty, Mitooma District, has been part of the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project since 2003. His journey is one of transformation—from cutting timber illegally to becoming a leader in environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Christopher Tugumusirize from Bitereko subcounty, Mitooma District, joined the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project in 2003. He is grateful for the opportunity and proud to be part of a project that has transformed his life through tree planting.

Milton Buherero from Kirama Village in Kiyanga Subcounty, Mitooma District, was one of the first five farmers to join the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project in 2003. Since then, the project has brought remarkable change to his life and his community.

George Banturaki from Kiyanga Subcounty, Mitooma District, is one of the pioneer farmers who joined the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project in 2003. The income from carbon payments has helped George pay for his children’s education and other home improvements.

Paturi Tukamuhabwa from Kiyanga Subcounty, Mitooma District, is a proud member of the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project. Since planting 610 trees, his life has transformed thanks to the financial and environmental benefits of sustainable tree growing.

Betty Nsigaireho, from Bitereko Subcounty in Mitooma District, is one of the pioneer farmers in the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project. Since joining in 2003 and planting 1,000 trees, her life has changed in many positive ways.

Lilian Bandi stands as a pioneer in the Trees for Global Benefits (TGB) project, recalling her journey with gratitude and a profound sense of purpose. Her involvement began with a workshop training by ECOTRUST, an experience that laid the foundation for a transformative chapter in her life.
