The Rwentumba Beekeepers Group, a business component of the Rwentumba Community Land Association (CLA), recently underwent a two-day modern beekeeping training facilitated by ECOTRUST and the Hive Uganda. The training took place on the 23rd and 24th of February 2023, with the objective of building the capacity of the group to improve the management of the business and increase production of bee products, ultimately helping them achieve their business objectives.
The Murchison landscape MoMo4C Project is calling for innovative green propositions to support the development of nascent Business Plans of 10 Communal Land Associations (CLA) into full-blown Business Cases for the Sustainable Management of community forests as buffers to the Budongo Forest Reserve -while at the same time, enabling the CLA members to benefit from them.
ECOTRUST, working with local schools and religious institutes in and around Masindi district, mobilized 17.6 ha of land to support the planting of over 7000 indigenous tree seedlings by women and youth groups living within the ten forest communities of Ongo, Tengele, Motokayi, Kaitampisi, Kyamasuka, Bineneza, Siiba, Sonso, Rwentumba and Alimugonza – as part of the MOMO4C Gendered green investment campaign 2021 from the 5 – 12th May 2021.
