We’re excited to invite you to the ECOTRUST Annual Stakeholders’ Event scheduled for Thursday, 19th December 2024 — a unique opportunity for reflection, learning, and connection. This year’s event holds special significance as we not only review progress on our 2022–2026 Strategic Plan but also launch celebrations to mark 25 years of ECOTRUST as a leader in conservation financing.
The 2023 ECOTRUST Annual Stakeholders event celebrated 20 years of the Trees for Global Benefits Programme, showcasing its achievements, featuring interactive exhibitions, honoring pioneer farmers, and emphasizing the importance of nature-based solutions and community involvement in climate adaptation efforts.
The 2023 ECOTRUST Annual Stakeholders Event is a special celebration marking the 20th anniversary of our Trees for Global Benefits Programme. Join us for an enlightening event as we showcase the remarkable achievements, milestones, and impact of the Trees for Global Benefits Programme over the past two decades. Discover the positive environmental, social, and economic changes brought about by this transformative initiative.
ECOTRUST’s annual stakeholder event, was held both physically and online in 2022, under the theme of “Resilience in the Face of Increasing Crisis: Strengthening Partnerships for Climate Resilient Landscapes.” The event highlighted the organization’s conservation partnerships and innovations, recognized smallholder farmers and showcased the success of programs such as the Trees for Global Benefit (TGB) program. Presentations by ECOTRUST staff members showcased various conservation projects across the different landcapes of Uganda.
This year’s event, to be held under the theme “Resilience in the face of Increasing Crisis”, will highlight the strategic, collaborative, and innovative conservation partnerships that ECOTRUST has catalyzed to build community resilience to climate change, extreme weather events, and additional stressors in light of the sudden and gradual adverse effects of environmental degradation and climate change processes.
Every year ECOTRUST holds an Annual Stakeholders’ event as a feedback and accountability mechanism to key partners and stakeholders in the organization’s interventions and aspirations. This year’s event was special because it marked the end of the 2017-2021 ECOTRUST strategic plan and the beginning of a new strategic period 2022-2026. The event was held under the theme “LIVING IN HARMONY WITH NATURE: Building Climate Resilient Communities and Sustainable Landscapes” which is the theme of the new ECOTRUST strategic plan. It recognizes the overall vision post-2020 – Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) framework for the next decade and the new vision that will inspire ECOTRUST operations over the medium term.

The 2020 ECOTRUST Annual Stakeholders’ event was held virtually on the 21st of December 2020 under the theme “Business Development for Sustainable Forest Management,” focusing on ECOTRUST’s efforts to mobilize financing towards green and inclusive business development across the Budongo – Bugoma landscape for enhancement of forest conservation, community development and restoration of critical wildlife corridors.
